Erreur --- perl: warning: Setting locale failed.

J'ai souvent rencontré sur mes VMs Ubuntu Server cette erreur :

perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
        LANGUAGE = (unset),
        LC_ALL = (unset),
        LANG = "fr_FR.UTF-8"
    are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").

J'ai donc tenté une re-configuration des locales :

$ dpkg-reconfigure locales
perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
        LANGUAGE = (unset),
        LC_ALL = (unset),
        LANG = "fr_FR.UTF-8"
    are supported and installed on your system.
perl: warning: Falling back to the standard locale ("C").
locale: Cannot set LC_CTYPE to default locale: No such file or directory
locale: Cannot set LC_MESSAGES to default locale: No such file or directory
locale: Cannot set LC_ALL to default locale: No such file or directory

Sans succès.

Pour corriger cette erreur, il faut utiliser la commande locale-gen :

$ locale-gen fr_FR.UTF-8
Generating locales...
  fr_FR.UTF-8... done
Generation complete.

Puis lancer la re-configuration des locales :

$ dpkg-reconfigure locales
Generating locales...
  fr_FR.UTF-8... up-to-date
Generation complete.
